Tadashi sounded like an interesting person, and John wanted to become friends with him. John was uncertain, however, because he suspected that Tadashi was lying about his family and his life since Tadashi never looked into John’s eyes as he talked.
Is John’s suspicion correct?

However, her closest Japanese friend keeps telling her that she should use the formal style when addressing senpai of the club she belongs to, too. Becky doesn’t understand why ― they are only one or two years older than she is. They are students too, and some of them are her friends! Becky is beginning to wonder if she can trust her best friend’s advice.
